About Lucy

Dubliner Lucy O’Byrne was singing before she could walk or talk with her family and community groups like Song and Dance Stage School in Baldoyle, North County Dublin.  At twenty, she began training classically under Irish soprano Kathryn Smith.

What started as a means of learning strong technique to take care of her voice became a passion for singing and learning to sing opera she never knew existed.

Following a move to the bright lights of London, and a stint on BBC’s The Voice UK – finishing as runner-up for Team will.i.am in 2015 – Lucy has forged a busy career as a performer and recording artist.

Lucy’s unique vocal talents have seen her perform in such exciting events as The BBC Proms, The Ministry of Sound, West End Live, Sounds in the Grounds at Warwick Castle, Bestival with Rob da Bank, Friday Night is Music Night at the London Palladium, The Late Late Show with the RTE Concert Orchestra, as well as numerous television and concert appearances.

Lucy’s first love is still musical theatre, and since 2015, she is delighted to have performed in the West End and toured all over Europe in such iconic roles as Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, Fantine in Les Misérables, Eva Peron in Evita, Sheryl in Little Miss Sunshine and Grizabella in Cats.
